The Voice for Faith-Based Social Services Throughout the State of Missouri….

On June 15, 2007, faith leaders with a myriad of social service experience from different parts of Missouri, convened in Columbia to begin to lay the groundwork for an alliance of faith-based organizations that provide social services. The mission of the Alliance is to advocate for policies that promote and maintain healthy families and communities through faith-based initiatives.The organization’s activities will include:

  • Representing and advocating for the interests of Missouri’s faith-based social service providers
  • Educating policymakers and others about the value of faith-based social services
  • Serving as a resource to the faith-based organizations throughout the state that provide social services
  • Building a network of faith-based social service providers
  • Providing community education
  • Providing training to faith organizations

Alliance membership is open to organizations of various faiths and denominations providing services in the areas of substance abuse, child protection, mental health, domestic violence, chronic disease prevention and care, prisoner re-entry, prison ministry, housing, minority disparities reduction, spiritual malaise, veterans’ needs, older adult issues, children’s issues, and more.

Annual membership fees are $500 for a membership with voting privileges and $250 for an affilate non-voting membership.  The application can be downloaded by clicking the following link.
